Content

Teams of about 3 students work on a current task in the area of CI in Games. They program or extend a computer game with intelligent, typically self-learning agents. In particular, the potential for autonomous development of self-learning artificial intelligences is explored and evaluated.

Objectives

Students could integrate intelligent agents into computer games. In general, they gain hands-on experience integrating intelligent mechanisms into computer games and simulation environments. They develop an understanding of how fast artificial agents can learn. In particular, they understand the interplay between the complexity of the game environment, the power of the learning algorithm, and the focus (bias) of the learning algorithm to discover certain structures in the environment.
