Content

Topics include fundamentals (mathematical reasoning; sets; mappings and relations; natural numbers), real numbers,
sequences and series, limits and growth of functions, differential and integral calculus, Taylor expansion.

Objectives

The students know the basics of calculus, which are an important prerequisite in all areas of computer science. They have the ability for formally correct (mathematical) argumentation and representation. By working in small practice groups, the students have the ability to work on problems together and to critically evaluate other students' solutions. By dealing with strictly formal content and tools, argumentative accuracy is developed and stamina is strengthened.
